Open daily 10am – 5pm, 1st – 31st Aug and thereafter by appointment.

A solo exhibition throughout August is being held of Alison Kinnaird MBE‘s work, showcasing a wide range of engraved glass art, from small intimate pieces to larger architectural projects, combining the ancient technique of wheel engraving with the cutting edge technology of LED lighting, to introduce light and colour to the images.

It will be an ‘open studio’ show, where visitors can also see Alison working on the glass. Alison’s home and workplace are in Shillinghill Studios – a converted church dating from 1832, in the historic village of Temple in Midlothian – once the headquarters of the Knights Templar in Scotland in the 14th century, making it a historic setting for enjoying the exhibition. Alison’s website features images of the work and a video about the exhibition can be seen on her Facebook page.
