Delighted to meet you at Burnside Gallery in Selkirk features Alison Scott MA’s watercolours of Spanish rescue greyhounds and Javier Ternero’s photographs of Spain and Scotland taken with old cameras, using 19th-century printing processes.
Alison says, ‘My earliest memory is chasing my siblings on all fours. Before going to nursery school I could mostly be found in the neighbours’ garden with their Shetland collie. I think I always wanted to be a dog.’ Javier explains, ‘I work with ninteenth-century exposure, development and printing techniques because those processes match how I see people, landscapes and buildings. Once the film is exposed and developed, the negatives are printed by contact, exposing them to the sun.’
