Tam o’Shanter – A Tale told in Pictures

The South Ayrshire Council holds an important collection of paintings by Alexander Goudie within the permanent collection. This collection of paintings illustrates the story of Burn’s Tam o’ Shanter and were painted by Goudie in 1995 prompted by the approaching bi-centenary of the poet’s death. You now have the unique chance to see all 54 paintings that re-create this epic poem by Robert Burns. It is the first time the entire collection has been exhibited in Ayrshire, and because of its enormous size and the dimension of many of the paintings it will fill the entire Maclaurin Art Gallery and much of Rozelle House as well.
