Aberdeen Art Gallery‘s long-awaited re-opening took place last November, following a once-in-a-lifetime transformation, billed as its most significant investment since it first opened in 1885, and aiming to be the city’s most inspiring, accessible and welcoming public building, to enjoy for generations to come. After closure during lockdown, the Gallery re-opened in August this year and has been announced as one of two Scottish winners of the Art Fund Museum of the Year 2020.

Among the highlights on show in October are the BP Portrait Award 2020, screenings of short films of dance artists DanceLive, Le Sirenuse film installation, new narratives on poetry and fashion inspired by Aberdeenshire fashion designer Bill Gibb, and screenings of video artist Haroon Mirza‘s Waves and Forms online.
