A sip of south-west France

Cafe St Honoré is regularly the host to special dinners and one that we have early news of one with Wine Gang journalist Tom Cannavan on 16 October. He will home in on the wines from south-west France, where there are 6,000 vineyards and 800 independent producers to choose from. Chef-proprietor Neil Forbes is creating a seasonal four-course dinner (with duck breast, confit leg, potato cake, cabbage, our bacon and port sauce as a main) to accompany the 12 wines selected by the Wine Gang. With denominations like Cahors, Madiran, Saint Mont, Pacherenc du Vic Bilh, Cotes de Gascogne, Marcillac and Gaillac to learn about, it looks like another one for the diary.
