Showing in The Room, City Contemporary Art’s dedicated space for solo exhibitions, is a series of paintings by Karen Strang, portraying her Polish mother, Dr Zofia Strang – a pioneering woman who lived under Nazi occupation, then Stalinism in Poland, and in Britain during the Cold War, depicting her energy, style, and beauty.

Also showing, until 19th May, is the CCA Spring Show, featuring gallery artists Peter Haldane, Adrian Wisniewski RSA, Jonathan Shearer, Ian Cook RI RSW RGI, Niamh McFarlane, Nael Hanna, Garry Harper, David Page, Lesley Mackay and Colin Brown.
