December 15 – January 8

As part of the Festival of Architecture 2016, The Vital Art at Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline celebrates artworks by members of the Scottish Society of Architect-Artists and invited colleagues from France, Poland and Italy. The exhibition includes: paintings by Dr Trish Cain RGI capturing complex construction on-site at Glasgow’s Zaha Hadid-designed Riverside Museum; original, hand-drawn design images for the award-winning Scottish Parliament building; and a watercolour study of Art Deco-influenced buildings by Andrew Merrylees RSA. Also featured are portraits, landscapes, sculptures and abstract studies, which demonstrate the skills and visual sensitivities which architect-artists develop during their long years of training in art schools and universities around Scotland.
