The exhibitions Open Eye at 40 and John Bellany 1942-2013 celebrate the Open Eye Gallery’s 40th anniversary in what would have been the artist’s 80th year, with a selection of his later, more joyful paintings. Best-known for documenting the lives of the fishing communities on the east coast of Scotland, Bellany was the most prolific Scottish artist of his generation. Also showing is work by 40 established and emerging artists who have shown with the Gallery over the years, including Sir Robin Philipson, Alberto Morrocco, Sir William Gillies, Barbara Rae, John Byrne and Leon Morrocco.
