Presented by the Ayr and District Branch of charity Save the Children, the 30th annual show at Maclaurin Gallery in Ayr features a varied selection of work by both amateur and professional artists, including Michael Clark PAI, Janette Coughtrie, Fiona Graham, James and Claire Harrigan, Margaret Johnston, Sandra Ratcliffe and Peter Howson OBE, who has donated two recent pieces. There are three additions to the programme this year: Cameo Cards, a selection of postcard-sized oil paintings donated by the artists and sold unframed; a calendar designed by members of the committee and featuring some of the Cameo paintings; and a silent auction held over the duration of the exhibition. Visitors can post a note of their bid to commission a portrait by Margaret Johnston.
