Running from 4th November to 17th December this year, the programme for the 28th edition of French Film Festival UK has been announced. It includes such classics as thriller The Sleeping Car Murders and the iconic Breathless, which are to run alongside the work of contemporary directors, including Jean-Paul Salomé’s La Daronne, starring Isabelle Huppert, Juliette Binoche in How to be a Good Wife, Lucas Belvaux’s Home Front, starring Gérard Depardieu, Valérie Donzelli’s Notre Dame (filmed shortly before the building’s devastating fire), and Nicholas Vanier’s Spread Your Wings. This year also introduces vibrant newcomers such as Manele Labidi (Arab Blues); Laurent Michell (Lola); and Caroline Vignal (My Donkey, My Lover & I). Other familiar names include Robert Guédiguian’s family drama Gloria Mundi. The Festival’s online offer can be found under fff@home.
Festival director Richard Mowe has stressed the importance of ‘keeping faith with our colleagues in cinemas and our loyal and enthusiastic audiences stretching from Oban and Inverness to Plymouth via Belfast.’ The Festival and its partner venues will following distancing and self-protection guidelines.
